Monday-Friday | 8-12 hour shifts (schedule may vary based on business needs) Job Summary We are currently seeking an experienced Dispatch Assistant to join our transportation and logistics team. This position plays a key role in coordinating daily intermodal dispatch operations, communicating with drivers, tracking container movements, and ensuring timely deliveries while providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, bilingual, and experienced in the transportation and logistics industry. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule container pickups and deliveries. Dispatch drivers and communicate route assignments, schedules, and any changes. Track container movements and provide timely updates to customers. Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and transportation documentation. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, transportation laws, and company policies. Perform data entry and maintain dispatch reports. Answer incoming phone calls and emails professionally. Assist the Operations Manager with daily dispatch activities. Resolve scheduling issues while providing exceptional customer service. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience in intermodal transportation, trucking, container logistics, or drayage operations required. Experience coordinating port/container movements is highly preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. High school diploma or GED. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience using V-Intermodal dispatch software is a plus. Ability to quickly learn transportation management systems. Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation laws, and industry best practices is preferred. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
