Job Description
Dispatcher Logistics Location:
Manor, Texas Pay Rate:
$22.00/HR- $26.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch drivers, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to driver or customer requests, and contract requirements using TRS, SAMSARA, and any other applicable company program(s). Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules when breakdowns occur while in route. Understands driver routes and plans and schedules the routes to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment. Communicates with customer both by email and phone to provide updates, ETAs for shipment, expedite/ emergency requests, POD requests etc. Maintain a working relationship with the driver pool in a professional, ethical, and polite manner. Ensure all databases are up to date and accurate as well as available for all with a need-to-know (i.e. TRS, driver check in's, load %, notes on any late slips received from drivers, driver issues, breakdowns, and any other applicable issues or programs). Calls in service issues to vendors, ensures repairs are made and unsafe equipment is taken out of service Uses TMS to track new orders, make sure orders are being handled within the required time frame, make sure updates are being made, PODs entered, and order processed through completion. Uses Samsara to check for safety and compliance violations and route adherence Checks trip and dispatch logs for conformance with schedules and ensure driver accurately fills out manifests. Communicates with drivers through the shift to track progress, get updates on booked orders and route adherenceSkills & Experience Required:
Experience- a minimum of two years of prior dispatching in the transportation industry
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road
- logistics/ DOT Regulations
- Clerical
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
