Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Dispatcher in the Traffic department at our Temple, Texas manufacturing plant. This position coordinates the assignment of over the road drivers, trailers and tractors and/or common carriers with the shipping and transportation of products to our external customers to ensure the efficient and expedient delivery in a timely manner using established policies and procedures. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As a Dispatcher, you will assign particular loads of product to be delivered in a predetermined timeframe using established policies, procedures/guidelines and Department of Transportation rules and regulations. They will communicate daily with Traffic Manager, shipping clerks, warehouse employees, department managers and external customers. Works in a normal office environment. Major challenge is the coordination of scheduling orders to be delivered on time to meet customer demands. Skills/Requirements Customer service experience in a manufacturing and/or transportation environment. Experience coordinating customer deliveries with production areas and transportation department. Experience processing complex customer requirements with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced work environment. Adaptability to manage last-minute changes in customer orders and/or production schedules to meet customer demands. Excellent telephone and verbal communication skills to communicate regularly with customer, production and transportation areas. Intermediate Microsoft Office and computer skills. Excellent organization skills. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must have knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
