Job Description

Job Summary:
Join our team of professionals at VMW Freight Express! Family-owned and operated since 1986 has an immediate opening for a full-time hands-on Dispatcher. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to manage and coordinate our fleet during daytime operations, Monday - Friday. This position ensures timely and efficient dispatching of drivers, monitors transportation activities, handles emergencies or schedule changes, and maintains strong communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch drivers to designated routes and customer locations using dispatch software. Monitor and track fleet movements using GPS and routing systems. Communicate with drivers to provide route updates, address issues, and ensure safety compliance. Respond promptly to incidents, delays, or emergencies, and coordinate appropriate responses. Maintain accurate records of driver logs, routes, schedules, and delivery/pickup information. Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to resolve delivery or service issues. Ensure DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies are followed at all times. Perform shift handovers and report key issues to dispatch team or management. Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional and courteous manner during the overnight shift.
