T.E. Walrath Trucking is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Tacoma team. We're looking for someone who communicates well, provides excellent customer service, stays organized in a fast-moving environment, and is comfortable learning and working with technology. Previous dispatch and/or trucking experience can be valuable, but we're equally interested in candidates with strong transferable skills who are ready to learn our operation and systems. If you're a strong communicator, comfortable working on a computer, good at solving problems, and able to keep multiple priorities moving at once, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Shift is Monday-Friday in office in Tacoma, 8am to 4:30 pm, rotating on-call until mid-night Weekend On-call rotates, every other weekend Coordinate and dispatch drivers throughout the workday Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, loads, job locations and changes Provide helpful, professional service to customers by phone and other communication channels Enter, update and maintain accurate information within company dispatch and business systems Monitor scheduled work and make adjustments as conditions or customer needs change Communicate with customers, drivers and team members to help resolve scheduling or delivery issues Maintain accurate records and ensure information is entered promptly and correctly Work closely with other departments to keep daily operations running efficiently What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Excellent at customer service and professional communication Comfortable learning and using computer software and technology Organized and able to manage multiple priorities Detail-oriented and accurate with data entry and information Able to think through problems and make sound decisions Comfortable communicating with drivers, customers and co-workers throughout the day Able to remain professional and organized when schedules or priorities change Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team Previous experience in dispatching, trucking, transportation, logistics or a similar environment is helpful, but not required.
