Approximately 45 hours per week Job Overview The Administrative Assistant/Dispatcher serves as a key point of contact at Zeller Transportation, supporting daily transportation operations and helping ensure the efficient movement of freight. This role assists with planning company-owned truck and trailer utilization, coordinating loads, and identifying backhaul opportunities through load boards and existing customer relationships. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams are important for success in this role. Main Job Duties Coordinate daily operations for local drivers. Communicate load details, appointments, routes, and schedule updates to drivers. Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and transportation schedules. Assist with load planning and identify backhaul opportunities to improve equipment utilization. Build and maintain relationships with current customers while supporting new customer development. Enter orders, schedule appointments, and manage transportation requests. Book loads with new and existing customers. Maintain and update transportation systems, including TMW, DAT, Truckstop, Excel spreadsheets, and other logistics platforms. Monitor shipment progress and address transportation issues as needed. Review and approve credit for new vendors. Maintain accurate shipment records through timely and organized data entry. Use Samsara systems to monitor equipment and track shipments in real time. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in dispatch, load planning, fleet management, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred. Familiarity with TMW, DAT, Truckstop, Samsara, or similar transportation software is a plus. Knowledge of freight booking, shipping processes, receiving procedures, and DOT regulations. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$47,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
