Job Description

Emergency Management & Security Coordinator This position is exempt and scheduled to work 32 hours per week. Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Emergency Management & Security Coordinator to lead and coordinate comprehensive emergency preparedness and response efforts across the organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, resilience, and regulatory compliance of the facility through effective planning, training, and incident management. Working under the oversight of the Environment of Care Committee, the Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of the hospital's emergency management and security programs. Education & Experience Minimum of an Associate's degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Completion of required National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications; certifications may be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Demonstrated experience in emergency management planning and operational response preferred. Prior experience in law enforcement, corrections, hospital security, or a closely related field strongly preferred. Familiarity with healthcare emergency preparedness standards and regulatory requirements is a plus. Other Skills & Abilities Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, hospital leadership, staff, and the general public. Proficiency in standard office and presentation software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent platforms. Strong administrative and organizational capabilities, including accurate recordkeeping, professional correspondence (letters, memorandums), document proofreading, and file system management. Experience with data entry, information tracking, basic budget monitoring, and research tasks. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective keyboarding and computer skills with a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in time-sensitive or high-stress situations. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications required; must obtain and maintain required certifications within six (6) months of hire if not already completed.
