Job Description

Nature of Work Under general supervision performs work of considerable difficulty in the management of a public program or functional unit; performs related work as assigned. This position will be primarily managing capital construction projects for the Facilities Management Department. This is a Limited Appointment position ending 06/30/2028 Typical Duties Plans, develops, implements, administers and evaluates projects that provide facilities management services to County departments Assesses organizational and community needs and engages community resources to enhance existing projects Researches best practices and implements strategies to increase effectiveness Works with County departments to create innovative solutions that serve the organization Works collaboratively with grant writing team to develop new funding sources Prepares and administers project budgets, with administrative oversight Develops, evaluates and revises policies and procedures to improve project efficiency and effectiveness Implements programs that align with and support the strategic plan Negotiates, administers and monitors contracts Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations Maintains working relationships with County departments, community agencies and organizations Monitors budget expenditures May assist other divisions within the department May serve as team leader and periodically as multi-agency team leader or project manager Essential functions include: sitting; standing; walking; working with and around others; working alone on projects; interruptions; repetitive motion using keyboard; vision acuity (near/far) to use keyboard and monitor; color vision to work with color computer monitors; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity to use keyboard. ability to visit and navigate construction sites with potential exposure to elements and uneven terrain. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, or a related field within subject area and three years public program management experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Fingerprint clearance may be required. This position is exempt from overtime.
