A Facilities Manager manages the facilities of a company or organization, including buildings and grounds, equipment, supplies and staff. Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.

Since establishing our camp in Williams in 1968, we have provided safe, accessible, and meaningful recreational experiences that foster independence, confidence, and lifelong memories. As our Facilities Manager, you won't simply maintain buildings—you'll help create an environment where campers, families, staff, and volunteers can thrive. Position Summary The Facilities Manager is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of the Civitan Foundation Camp in Williams, Arizona. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining all camp facilities, infrastructure, vehicles, equipment, utilities, and grounds while supervising seasonal staff, volunteers, and contractors. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver who enjoys working independently, leading projects, and taking pride in maintaining a beautiful and safe mountain camp. Essential Responsibilities Facility Operations & Maintenance Ensure all buildings, grounds, cabins, program areas, and infrastructure remain safe, functional, attractive, and well maintained. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, wastewater, Wi-Fi, commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, and light construction projects. Maintain compliance with all applicable building, health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations. Keep all required state, county, and institutional inspections current. Water & Wastewater Systems Operate and maintain two 10,000-gallon water storage tanks. Monitor groundwater distribution systems to ensure uninterrupted water service. Maintain water quality and compliance with county regulations. Inspect, maintain, and repair septic systems and wastewater lines. Perform daily inspections for leaks, cleanliness, and proper system operation. Equipment & Fleet Management Maintain all camp vehicles and equipment, including: Wheelchair-accessible vans Passenger vans Facility vehicles Backhoe Tractor Loader Excavator Golf carts Trailers Power equipment and tools Coordinate outside repairs when specialized service is required. Ensure all equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational. Grounds Maintenance Maintain camp roads, parking areas, sidewalks, wheelchair-accessible paths, fencing, gates, playground equipment, sports courts, and outdoor recreation areas. Perform landscaping, weed control, tree trimming, irrigation maintenance, and seasonal cleanup. Remove snow and address weather-related hazards to maintain accessibility and safety year-round. Haul trash to the local transfer station and maintain refuse collection equipment. Construction & Capital Projects Complete small and medium-sized construction and renovation projects whenever possible. Coordinate contractors for specialized projects. Obtain and maintain building permits and related documentation. Transport materials and supplies from vendors as needed. Assist with camp setup for special events, community activities, and parades. Leadership & Administration Supervise seasonal maintenance staff, janitorial staff, groundskeepers, work campers, volunteers, and contractors. Train staff on proper equipment use and safe work practices. Maintain records for warranties, inspections, permits, licenses, contracts, inventory, and service agreements. Monitor maintenance inventories and order supplies and replacement parts. Recommend facility improvements and capital equipment purchases. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and facility emergency response. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Proven experience as a facilities Manager or in a similar facilities maintenance leadership role.

Electrical systems Plumbing Concrete work Carpentry Light construction Equipment maintenance and operation Commercial kitchen equipment Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment. Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience supervising employees, volunteers, and contractors. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and vendor management. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Ability to lift 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Preferred Experience maintaining camps, schools, parks, retreat centers, or multi-building facilities. Knowledge of water systems, septic systems, and utility infrastructure. Experience with OSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance. Trade certifications in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or construction are a plus. Why Join Civitan Foundation?
