Job Description

We are hiring a Facility Manager to lead warehousing and distribution operations in a hands-on, working manager capacity. This full-time salaried position will report to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for achieving safety, quality, productivity, and profitability objectives while ensuring customers receive reliable and cost-effective service. In addition to providing leadership, coaching, and operational oversight, this role will spend approximately 40% of the time actively working on the warehouse floor to support daily operations, team performance, and continuous improvement efforts.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversee team performance and retention, through coaching and ensuring appropriate employee training. Hire, onboard, and train new team members, as needed, to ensure staffing levels meet customer demands. Successfully execute plans to meet objectives in Safety, Service, Profitability, and Development. Partner with internal resources and customers for successful customer account management. Manage safety-related actions and documents, inspections, codes, design layouts, and security procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by creating and following standard operating procedures. Cultivate and build the LEAN culture through continuous process improvements. Analyze building financial and productivity/efficiency reports to control and manage direct expenses. Review other WSI facility methods and keep up to date on safety and operational changes.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to respond to requests promptly and resolve issues quickly. Ability to lead a diverse workforce; effectively develop employees, and communicate objectives. Available during non-standard hours, access to a cell phone, and able to respond to after-hour emergencies. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and technology equipment including WMS and (RF) Scanners. Maintain professional and technical knowledge to implement warehouse safety and training programs.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree. Minimum three years of previous leadership experience. Minimum three years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls. Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
