Position Summary:
Manager leads safe, compliant, reliable operation of the site's physical plant, utilities, maintenance systems, and environmental health and safety programs. This hands-on leader directs planned and corrective maintenance; supervises and develops the maintenance team; manages contractors and facility projects; and maintains readiness for applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role is a great opportunity to work with a small team, have a visible impact on the plant, be accountable for practical, on-floor leadership that protects employees, prevents unplanned downtime, supports good manufacturing practices (GMP). This position is at our Manufacturing Division located in Hayward, California.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all facilities functions are maintained to current standards including hazardous waste, green waste and recycling programs, HVAC maintenance and operations, calibrations, and servicing of all equipment. Use a CMMS or equivalent system to document work orders, PM completion, parts needs, equipment history, and corrective actions. Plan and manage facility repairs, renovations, capital improvements, layouts, and equipment installations. Prepare practical cost estimates, schedules, and budget needs. Lead, coach, assign, train and evaluate maintenance and janitorial personnel. Act as company liaison with environmental and regulatory agents. Coordinate qualified contractors and vendors; define scope, and confirm work is completed satisfactorily. Act as Safety Coordinator for Natural Formulas. Responsible for conducting post-accident investigations, safety, environmental, housekeeping, and facility inspections. Ensure the facilities hazardous waste and recycling programs are executed maintained to current standards. Maintain facilities and equipment in a condition that supports applicable GMP, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Work with Operations and Quality to address facility-related findings and improvement needs. Maintain all departments in an operational state of repair to complete the daily work schedules and responsibilities. Work with Supervisors and Managers to access new equipment to improve efficiencies. Develop and/or revise standard operational and working procedures and assess workers to ensure compliance with standards. Assist the Director of Operations in planning future facilities layout and usage. Keep the Director of Operations informed and updated on all ongoing activities within the plant. Conduct training (GMP, safety, on-the-job) for your department. Ensure GMP's are always followed.
Requirements:
Associate's degree (A.A.) and five to seven years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of cGMP requirements and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments; including HVAC, cleanrooms, purified water, compressed gases, electrical systems, and building automation; familiarity with equipment/facility qualification, change control, deviations, CAPA, preventive maintenance, calibration, and audit readiness. Excellent communicating/organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
