Director of Fleet & Facilities Bauers Intelligent Transportation Inc - 3.3 San Francisco, CA Job Details Full-time $100,000 - $150,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Vendor relationship building Team management Full Job Description Director of Fleet and Maintenance Bauer's is seeking a motivated, responsible and detail-oriented individual to work directly with senior level executives and our CEO. The Fleet Director position is a leadership opportunity for detail orientated, mechanically inclined Manager in the highly competitive travel and transportation industry. This is a critical role as it directly correlates to continually improving the customer experience through greater availability of full vehicle lines while maximizing the highest brand standards and maintaining performance-based costs initiatives. This includes supporting the day-to-day operations of the Fleet, employee management and training, margin evaluation of Fleets unique situations and preparing business cases and presenting to management. This is a critical position within Bauer's' Intelligent Transportation. Responsibilities Oversee the repair and maintenance operation for all vehicles: from 56 person coaches to sedans, including two garage locations San Francisco & Santa Clara. Ensure maintenance staff are adequately trained and equipped to accomplish work in a safe and productive manner Provide leadership, observation, guidance, direction, support and instruction to maintenance staff both as individuals and as a group to ensure good two-way communication Manage the operation in accordance with company policy, operating protocol and applicable laws Ensure City, County, State and Federal regulations are met at all times for inspections Support safety with compliance for the following programs: storm water, spill prevention, hazardous waste, air quality, fire safety and emergency action program Maintain transportation and environmental compliance and records for fleet equipment and shop, in computer and paper files Conduct training for OSHA, EPA and DOT and company policies for maintenance staff safety Maintain and update operating and training manuals for fleet, equipment, tools and department Conduct weekly travel to CWS maintenance facilities/operations to manage and review activities and staff Track and manage of inventory spare parts supplies and equipment and initiate reordering to maintain inventory optimal levels Review the operation of equipment and systems constantly to minimize downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement Conduct regular inspections and prepare reports for facility and equipment Review safety records to uphold standards and performance of for all maintenance staff and enforce company safety programs Diagnose, schedule and assign work for preventative maintenance and repair work on fleet and shop equipment Conduct employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of maintenance staff Evaluate and report about quality, productivity, quantity and efficiency of maintenance work Manage and complete payroll reporting for maintenance staff (Via ADP) Manage, initiate, and cooperate in the recruiting for new maintenance staff Manage vendor relations for the purchase, supply, maintenance and warranty of equipment and supplies Communicate and provide regular support to colleagues and managers both individually and as a group to ensure good two-way communication maintenance and safety operations
Desired Skills and Experience:
5+ years of fleet Management exp. Must possess a minimum 8+ years' experience in a management role in transportation operation Managing large teams Proven track record of fleet Management and process development. Integration - joining people, process, or systems Lean Six Sigma product/process improvement Familiar with SFMTA and Airport permitting a Plus! Manage, operate and maintain company software programs, such as Fleetmate, Dossier Systems and Aestiva (PO System) Relevant experience in RTA Passion for problem solving and supporting customers with technology products Must be able to travel from San Jose and other facilities Working Conditions Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise Exposure to heavy traffic areas Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary inspections Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to perform necessary inspections Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
