Job Description

The Facilities and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, safety programs, and the overall condition of the building and grounds. This role ensures that all areas of the facility are clean, safe, compliant, and operating efficiently. Responsibilities include managing building systems, coordinating and managing vendors, maintaining site standards, and leading safety initiatives in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee preventive maintenance for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Ensuring comfort, performance, and efficiency. Coordinate and manage third-party vendors, including janitorial, landscaping, waste removal, pest control, snow removal, and related services Serve as the primary contact for facility-related issues, including utility outages and after-hours emergencies Monitor building access, security, and daily operational readiness Ensure all interior and exterior areas (restrooms, breakrooms, parking areas, entryways, landscaping, and loading zones) are maintained in a safe and clean condition Supervise janitorial services and provide supplemental support when necessary Support facility-related projects, including space planning, renovations, and upgrades Administer site safety programs, including OSHA compliance, inspections, audits, documentation, and policy adherence Conduct safety training on emergency procedures, PPE, equipment operation, and chemical handling Serve as the point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and safety-related inquiries Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions Experience coordinating vendors and managing service performance Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication skills for training and cross-functional coordination Ability to troubleshoot facility and equipment issues Attention to detail in maintaining facility standards
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing facilities or maintenance operations, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment Experience supporting or leading safety programs in an industrial setting Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and scheduling Experience managing external vendors and contractors Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physical work as required Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and follow-through First Aid & CPR Certification, or willingness to become certified
