Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day plus an unpaid lunch break. Using a worksite calendar.
Position Summary:

We are looking for a School Custodian to help maintain cleanliness and order in our facilities. The Custodian is responsible for keeping education facilities, equipment, and furnishings clean and organized. Responsibilities include ensuring the common areas, restrooms, offices, and classrooms are clean, and maintaining cleaning equipment to ensure everything needed to clean the school is stocked and ready. We are looking for someone with a high standard of excellence, a professional demeanor, and a can-do attitude to join our team and help us build for the future. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven team player who can manage multiple projects and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Essential Functions:
Follow existing methods and procedures for maintaining the facility to meet regulatory requirements and accountability reporting Abide by and adhere to all normal safety or security regulations and report infractions Responsible for maintaining a certain standard of cleanliness and sanitation, and associated documentation Perform general, routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. Perform routine maintenance of custodial equipment, supplies, and any other facilities' needs. Sometimes perform this maintenance alongside a contractor or other vendor, and/or know when it is necessary to contact an outside contractor to repair or replace the equipment or item. Working in conjunction with the Facility Manager, oversee the cleaning supply stock and making orders as necessary. Ensure facilities equipment is working properly, reporting any malfunctions to the Facility Manager. Support the set-up and tear-down of all year-round school events at our facilities. Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal. Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas. Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Complete all required training and provide documentation Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace Assist with maintenance projects (scheduled and unscheduled) throughout the day Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school Hazards • Working with chemicals, tools, and powered machinery. • Possible contact with blood borne pathogens and /or bodily fluids.
