Job Description
Overview The on-call Operations Workers perform event setup and teardown, custodial, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks as assigned. This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00.

This position will remain open until December 4, 2026. Responsibilities Conduct event set-up and tear-down activities; set up tables, chairs, stages, curtains, electricity, sound systems, and miscellaneous equipment used during banquets, dinners, trade shows, concerts, meetings, and dances at Two Rivers Convention Center and the Avalon Theatre or catered events. Set up, inspect, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, including sound and light boards and controls; determine if the event is set up properly.
Monitor events:
ensure customers and the public adhere to building, safety, health, fire, and alcohol rules and regulations. Respond to customer and public requests and inquiries in a courteous manner. Inspect and maintain Convention Center facilities and equipment, including lighting and sound systems, electric and manual doors, stages, tables, chairs, and power equipment; monitor and regulate heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Clean building facilities, including offices and restrooms; sweep, mop, strip, wax, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets; and dust and wash tables and chairs after each event. Maintain and clean outdoor facilities, including patios, sidewalks, and parking lots; sweep and hose debris; and remove snow. Operate and maintain equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, power floor machines, power buffers, carpet and furniture shampooers, and miscellaneous hand and power tools. Assist in maintaining cleaning and maintenance supply inventories. Respond to inquiries and concerns from customers; resolve complaints in an efficient manner. Pick up and deliver items for Convention Center facilities, including but not limited to mail, money, food, maintenance equipment, tables, and chairs. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience with event conversions/setups/teardowns is a plus. Strong knowledge of customer service procedures and principles. Previous experience using cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment is preferred. Must be able to follow safe work practices. Must be able to use applicable tools and operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, power floor machines, and power buffers. Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment setup preferred.
