•$25 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Customer communication Staff supervision Customer service In-person customer service High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Emergency response readiness General management AED Certification Full Job Description Job Overview Danbury PAL is seeking a dependable, hands-on, and proactive Facilities Assistant Director to help oversee the day-to-day operation of our facility and ensure it is safe, clean, organized, secure, and ready for programs, rentals, athletic activities, and community events. This is a visible leadership position for someone who is comfortable supervising staff, solving problems, working with the public, and taking ownership of facility operations. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day facility operations during assigned shifts. Conduct facility rounds and ensure the building is safe, clean, organized, and ready for use. Supervise facility staff, seasonal employees, and volunteers as assigned. Monitor facility safety, security, entrances, access, and emergency procedures. Support basketball, softball, cheerleading, Travel Basketball, camps, clinics, tournaments, fundraisers, and other PAL programs. Assist with event setup, breakdown, equipment, scoreboards, game clocks, and facility operations. Serve as the on-site facility representative during programs, rentals, and events. Oversee facility rentals and ensure renters follow PAL policies and facility requirements. Identify and coordinate maintenance needs, work orders, vendors, and service providers. Monitor cleaning, supplies, equipment, and general facility readiness. Maintain communication with PAL leadership, staff, coaches, renters, vendors, and community members. Assist with staff scheduling and weekly payroll administration. Make sound operational decisions and address issues when PAL leadership is not immediately available. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in recreation, athletics, facilities, community programs, schools, youth organizations, or a related environment. Strong communication, organizational, and customer-service skills. Ability to supervise staff and volunteers. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Ability to enforce policies fairly and consistently. Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergency situations. Successful completion of required PAL background screening.

Preferred:

Facility, recreation, athletic, event-management, or supervisory experience; CPR/AED/First Aid certification; experience with athletic event equipment such as scoreboards, game clocks, or PA systems. Schedule This position requires regular nights and weekends. Candidates must have a flexible schedule based on facility operating needs, programs, rentals, tournaments, events, and other PAL activities. Hours may vary depending on facility use and operational requirements. Compensation $22.00
