Job Title:
Facilities AssistantJob Summary:
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance, safety, cleanliness, beauty and general operations of the company's facilities. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with set-ups for meetings or events, handling minor repairs, ensuring the building is clean and organized, and supporting facility management in their day-to-day responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance:
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, repairing office furniture, and ensuring equipment is in good working order.Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, break rooms, and office spaces. Ensure janitorial supplies are stocked, and assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks.Health & Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the facility manager.Event Set-up and Support:
Assist with setting up rooms or spaces for meetings, conferences, and events, including moving furniture and equipment as required.Inventory Management:
Maintain and manage inventory of office supplies, cleaning products, and other facility-related materials. Order supplies as needed.Vendor Liaison:
Coordinate with and monitor outside contractors or vendors for services such as renovations, pest control, or specialized repairs.Mail and Deliveries:
Assist with the receipt and distribution of incoming deliveries, packages, and mail.Waste Management:
Ensure proper removal/disposal of waste, trash and debris.Customer Service:
Provide assistance to staff and visitors as needed, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment.Security Support:
Monitor security systems (such as alarms or cameras) and report any issues. Ensure doors, windows, and entry points are properly secured.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in facilities management or maintenance is a plus. Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks and building systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Proficiency with basic tools and equipment used in maintenance and repairs. Ability to troubleshoot basic facility issues.Physical Requirements:
Ability & willingness to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Use of ladders, cleaning equipment, and tools. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation during shift. Punctuality and reliability are a must.Working Conditions:
This role involves working outside of regular office hours for urgent tasks, maintenance needs, and events. Occasional weekend and evening work required with flexible availability.Job Type:
