Mark's Episcopal Church and Academy:

Our community is dedicated to spiritual growth and academic excellence. St. Mark's Episcopal Academy provides a nurturing and challenging educational experience for students from Pre-K3- 6th grade.
Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the buildings and grounds of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Academy. This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep to create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for worship, education, and community activities. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, possess a broad range of maintenance skills, and have a respectful and collaborative approach to working within a faith-based community.Responsibilities:
General Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including but not limited to plumbing repairs (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing leaks), electrical repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs, resetting breakers), carpentry (e.g., minor repairs to doors, windows, furniture), painting, and patching. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify potential issues and address them proactively. Participate in the Facility Maintenance Committee to prioritize short-term and long-term projects. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and clergy. Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Junior Warden. Work Hours From 6:30 to 3:15, with 45 minutes for lunch, during the school week.Groundskeeping and Landscaping:
Maintain the church and academy grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs and trees, weeding gardens, and ensuring general tidiness. Maintain walkways and parking areas, ensuring they are safe and free of debris. Assist with seasonal landscaping tasks, such as planting flowers or preparing for hurricanes. Maintain irrigation systems as needed.Building Systems Maintenance:
Assist with the basic maintenance of HVAC systems (e.g., changing filters, reporting issues). Monitor and maintain fire safety systems (e.g., checking smoke detectors, fire extinguishers) and report any deficiencies. Ensure proper functioning of lighting systems, both interior and exterior. On call for occasional security alarm notices or other unexpected events.Setup and Breakdown:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of spaces for various events, including worship services, meetings, classes, and community gatherings. This may involve moving tables, chairs, and equipment. This may involve occasional weekend/after-hours workSafety and Security:
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Junior Warden immediately. Assist with maintaining the security of the facilities, including locking and unlocking doors, coordinating with locksmiths and as needed. Monitor AED equipment for battery life and ensure each units has appropriate pads, etc. Function as the Crossing Guard in the mornings and afternoonsInventory and Supplies:
Monitor and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Inform the office manager when supplies need to be ordered. Ensure proper storage and organization of maintenance equipment and supplies.Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Rector/Junior Warden/HOS to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the facilities. Interact respectfully and professionally with clergy, staff, parishioners, students, parents, and visitors.Pay:
$35,000.00- $45,000.
