BiweeklyPOSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for general daily maintenance of the church property. The Maintenance specialist is also responsible for ensuring the weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual duties attached are completed in a timely manner.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct periodic visual inspections of all buildings and exterior to identify maintenance needs.
- Prepare rooms for scheduled events and return rooms to standard layout following events.
- Assist in monitoring the cleanliness of the property, reporting issues to the Church Administrator as needed.
- Support external contractors as needed, including but not limited to: pest control, lawn and landscape maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and panic monitoring, and fire and sprinkler inspection.
- Maintain church-owned tools and equipment, and schedule or perform regular maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies (unless provided by contracted cleaning services), bathroom and kitchen supplies, and restock as needed.
- Respond to urgent needs on church property, including fire alarm or other emergency situations that may arise outside of normal working hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
- Professing Christian;
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Five years or more of combined experience in building maintenance and commercial or residential cleaning preferred.
- Ability to understand instructions for operation of equipment, use of cleaning materials/chemicals, and work in a preventive mode to conduct activities in a safe manner.
- Must be organized, efficient, and dependable.
- Ability to sit, bend, stand, and move freely;
- Ability to crouch/crawl to retrieve or work with cables/cords;
- Ability and dexterity needed to write, type, answer phone, and retrieve small objects;
- Ability and dexterity to operate manual and power tools and equipment;
- Ability to lift and move furniture and boxes/packages;
- Ability to see and read printed and digital materials;
- Ability to accurately hear voices for communicating.
