Entry Level Position Overview We are seeking an Entry-Level General Services Specialist to support facilities, inventory, equipment, vehicle management, office moves, safety inspections, warehouse operations, and emergency preparedness activities. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable working independently . The role involves a combination of facility support, physical tasks, inventory management, site inspections, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Maintain and track personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency/disaster-related inventory. Maintain vehicle records and complete required vehicle logs. Assist with maintaining emergency response vehicles and trailers. Support day-to-day facility and general-services operations. Assist with internal and external office moves. Prepare and distribute employee keys and maintain key records. Manage keycard/access records for assigned facilities. Assist with disposal and movement of surplus materials and furniture. Deliver and arrange furniture, desks, and office equipment. Install whiteboards, corkboards, pictures, and similar office items. Use hand dollies and appropriate tools to safely move furniture and equipment. Assist with large-scale equipment and office moves. Assist with technology/equipment moves when needed. Monitor facilities for basic issues involving lighting, air conditioning, and other building conditions. Conduct facility and site inspections. Maintain an organized warehouse and keep work areas clear. Maintain accountability for tools and equipment. Request supplies and purchase orders when necessary. Follow established safety procedures and operational policies. Identify and address safety concerns at worksites. Assist with emergency and disaster-preparedness activities, including hurricane response. Travel between assigned locations when required. Perform other general-services and facilities-support duties as assigned. Driving & Travel Requirements Occasional local/regional driving may be required. Travel between assigned facilities may be required during normal operations or emergencies. Occasional overnight travel may be required for emergency-management activities. Overnight travel is expected to be infrequent. Authorized business travel will be conducted using an employer/state-provided vehicle when applicable. Candidate must be able to report onsite Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Required Skills Ability to work independently. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Work Environment This is a hands-on and highly visible position involving a variety of facility and general-services responsibilities. The successful candidate should be comfortable: Working independently. Performing physical tasks. Moving furniture and equipment. Working in warehouse environments. Visiting multiple facilities. Conducting site inspections. Interacting professionally with employees and facility personnel. Responding to changing operational needs. Supporting emergency and disaster-response activities.
