Job Description:
The Facilities Assistant will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining of the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Cleaning of the facility areas. Gather and empty trash. Clean building floors by sweeping or vacuuming. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Drives road sweeper and small wheel loader for cleaning. Cleans rainwater shafts. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. Sweeping and shoveling up sawdust. Picking up and/or throwing away boards. Dust machines and/or equipment. Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Other duties as assigned Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred At least 2 years of janitorial experience preferred Skills Attention to detail (required) Ability to coordinate and work as a team Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be dependable and show ability to take direction. Able to work flexible schedules and long hours. Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures, in loud, high volume environment. Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
