We're a trusted property management company committed to hands-on excellence, responsiveness, and superior service. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Assistant Manager to join our team — someone who can both lead and perform maintenance operations while ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.

Job OverviewThe Facilities Assistant Manager plays a vital, hands-on role in maintaining and improving all managed properties. This position combines technical maintenance work with operational management — overseeing repairs, coordinating contractors, managing the permitting process, and serving as the company's liaison with municipalities and insurance agencies. The ideal candidate is just as comfortable with tools in hand as they are managing budgets, schedules, and compliance documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Operations (Hands-On & Supervisory) Perform and oversee day-to-day maintenance activities across all managed properties, including routine repairs, emergency maintenance, and scheduled servicing. Handle basic to intermediate maintenance tasks personally (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and general building upkeep). Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and in-house maintenance staff to ensure high-quality and timely service. Conduct regular property inspections, identify maintenance needs, and address issues proactively. Develop and manage maintenance schedules, service contracts, and operating budgets. Permitting & Compliance Manage the permitting process for property improvements, repairs, and development projects. Work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations. Maintain up-to-date records of all permits, inspections, and compliance documentation. Stay current on regulations impacting property management and building operations. Municipality & Regulatory Liaison Serve as the primary contact for municipal authorities, code enforcement officers, and insurance inspectors. Coordinate and attend municipal and insurance inspections, ensuring prompt resolution of any code or compliance issues. Address zoning, permitting, and regulatory concerns related to property operations. Vendor & Contractor Relations Build and maintain relationships with service providers, contractors, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts, track performance, and ensure service quality meets company standards. Monitor costs, and ensure operations remain efficient and cost-effective. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in property, facilities, or building maintenance management. Strong hands-on maintenance skills (general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or similar trades). Knowledge of local building codes, permitting procedures, and safety standards. Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and travel between multiple property sites. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Work Environment Field-based role with frequent travel to properties. Combination of hands-on maintenance work and administrative/coordination duties. Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional after-hours response for emergencies. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Mileage reimbursement Opportunities for professional growth and advancement How to Apply If you take pride in both fixing problems yourself and leading operations that keep properties safe, compliant, and efficient, we want to hear from you!
