About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Facilities & Janitorial Assistant to support the daily cleanliness and overall appearance of the YWCO facility. This position plays an important role in ensuring our lobby, locker rooms, fitness areas, hallways, and community spaces remain sanitary, safe, and welcoming for all members and guests. Schedule Hours based on facility needs and position status (full-time or part-time) Key Responsibilities Clean and disinfect high-traffic surfaces including door handles, counters, furniture, and shared equipment Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain flooring throughout common areas Sanitize restrooms and locker rooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and fixtures Restock paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and other cleaning supplies as needed Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility and transport waste to designated disposal areas Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, and room preparation Identify and report maintenance concerns or safety hazards promptly Follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures for chemical and equipment use Help maintain a positive and welcoming environment for all members and visitors Qualifications Previous janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance experience preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Reliable, punctual, and consistent Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Friendly and professional when interacting with members, staff, and guests Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals preferred Must be able to pass background check requirements Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive movement Comfortable working in a fast-paced fitness and community environment What We're Looking For Someone who takes pride in maintaining clean and organized spaces A dependable team player with a positive attitude An individual who values safety, consistency, and customer service Someone who enjoys contributing to a mission-driven community environment Why Join Us?
