SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Facility Manager will report directly to the Director of Construction and play a key role in assisting capital expenditure (CapEx) projects. Responsibilities include coordinating Vendor Contracts and procuring services such as landscaping, maintenance (plumbing/ electrical), and equipment purchasing
  • including tools and golf carts
  • for the various communities included in the Parakeet portfolio.
Additional responsibilities include conducting safety audits, walking inventory homes at assigned communities, conducting property visits and follow ups with maintenance teams, and working with Regional Managers to train and evaluate the maintenance staff, ensuring they are equipped with the appropriate resources to effectively tend to their assigned properties. All duties will be performed in alignment with applicable Fair Housing Laws governing real estate and maintenance services. This position entails up to 50% travel and ability to respond to emergency situations on weekends as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of experience in Facilities Management or operations, preferably in a corporate or multi-site environment.
  • Excellent Leadership and Communication Skills.
  • Experience with Budget, Vendor negotiations, and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, compliance, and safety standards as they relate to Capex and Community-based projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily operations of facilities maintenance, including HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Supervise maintenance staff and contractors, providing guidance on tasks such as industrial maintenance, electrical work, low voltage systems, and high voltage safety protocols. Ensure compliance with safety standards by conducting inspections related to electrical systems, HVAC units, and industrial equipment; maintain safety documentation. Coordinate projects related to community upgrades or repairs, managing timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently. Prepare reports on operational status and improvement initiatives. Experience Proven management experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance environments. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in home remodeling or exposure to dome developers—knowledge of Manufactured homes and rehabs for these homes is a plus! Experience supervising teams or contractors within manufacturing or similar industrial settings. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Fluency in English (Spanish is a plus
