Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a long-term facilities strategy that supports operational performance, brand standards, asset reliability, and business growth Establish and maintain company-wide policies, standards, programs, and processes for maintenance, repair, facilities management, and capital improvements Serve as the senior facilities advisor to Operations leadership and executive stakeholders Partner with the Vice President of Operations and senior leadership to establish long-term facilities priorities and strategic initiatives Oversee facilities maintenance operations across all assigned markets, ensuring consistent execution, service quality, responsiveness, and adherence to established standards Drive continuous improvement in work order management, service level agreements, maintenance processes, and field execution Ensure effective prioritization and resolution of facility and equipment issues that impact restaurant operations Monitor and analyze facilities performance metrics, KPIs, service levels, maintenance spend, and financial data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities Use data and business insight to improve uptime, reduce costs, increase asset reliability, and improve the overall guest and team member experience Lead, develop, and support a multi-level facilities organization, including managers, technicians, and support functions Build a high-performing organization through coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and accountability Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence Create an environment where team members are challenged to grow, develop their capabilities, and achieve meaningful results Develop and maintain strategic vendor partnerships that support service quality, responsiveness, cost control, and operational needs Lead vendor negotiations, contract management, performance evaluations, service level agreements, and ongoing vendor accountability Oversee facilities budgets, maintenance spending, capital expenditures, and cost forecasting Ensure financial discipline through effective planning, benchmarking, reporting, and analysis Lead facilities-related capital planning in partnership with Operations and Finance Oversee large-scale equipment replacement programs, remodel support, infrastructure improvements, and other facilities-related capital projects Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned with operational needs Identify opportunities to improve asset lifecycle management and maximize the return on facilities investments Promote adherence to applicable safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies Support risk mitigation and business continuity strategies related to facilities, equipment, and infrastructure Partner with Operations, Risk, and other functional leaders on incident response, prevention strategies, and corrective actions Communicate changes openly, build support for initiatives, solicit and encourage feedback, anticipate resistance to change, explain the rationale behind changes, and follow up to ensure successful implementation Maintain high standards of integrity and act consistently with the overall values of the business Fully and actively participate in company-sponsored learning activities and seek personal growth intellectually and organizationallyRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, maintenance, service operations, or related operational leadership Significant experience managing facilities or service operations within a multi-unit, geographically dispersed environment Demonstrated success leading large, distributed teams and developing high-performing organizations Experience leading managers, technicians, and/or other multi-level facilities or service teams Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, vendors, capital expenditures, and operational performance metrics Proven ability to develop and implement scalable programs, processes, policies, and standards Experience developing and managing strategic vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and performance management Demonstrated analytical, financial, mathematical, and reasoning skills Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and develop effective solutions Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into practical operational strategies Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to achieve results through others and build an engaging, accountable culture Superior organization and self-management skills Able to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, or similarly scaled operations preferred Technical knowledge of commercial facilities systems, including HVAC/R, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and other restaurant infrastructure preferredLocation Requirements:
This is a remote-based position and requires the ability to travel to restaurant locations, markets, corporate meetings, vendor meetings, and other business locations as needed. Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule based on business needs, including occasional evening, weekend, or holiday travel. Driving on company business requires a valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage meeting or exceeding state requirements for property damage and bodily injury.
