Job Description

The Director of Maintenance will provide leadership to all maintenance tasks at the Mahaska County YMCA. The candidate will work with all technical systems of the YMCA's state of the art facility including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Chemical Systems, Fire Alarm system, elevator, etc… Oversee the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program that will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all YMCA maintenance systems. Supervise routine daily maintenance tasks including minor repairs, snow removal, grounds keeping, and maintenance of fitness areas, locker rooms and common spaces. Provide friendly and professional interactions with members and guests. Support program and event needs by helping setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and equipment. Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. The successful candidate will possess a high attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness and the ability to work independently. Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling. Ability to lift, move, and carry supplies or equipment as required. Willing to earn a Certified Pool Operator certificate within 90 days of employment. The work is performed indoors and outside and may require travel to various locations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Expected hours of work The facilities director's hours will vary. There may be times they will be expected to be on the property on weekends, at night, or early morning, which is dependent on the needs of the property and facility. This includes being on-call for repairs or issues that arise after scheduled work hours.
