Job Description:
Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Athletic Facilities Assistant. This is a part-time position. This position will report directly to the Director of Athletic Facilities. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the
NCAA Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. Responsible for assisting with the planning and organizing and preparation of athletic facilities for home athletic events Assist in managing logistics such as maintenance projects, scoreboard operations, crowd control, vendors, official's liaison, parking and transportation, and the facilitation of communication and services to campus partners, internal staff, and participants, and management. Work closely with Director of Athletic Facilities, Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities, and student event staff on a daily basis Assist with addressing all concerns related to game and event operations from coaches and sport administrators Assist with Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, as well as various Olympic sporting events, as assigned, throughout the year Prepares various game day checklists for multiple sports Must be professional and provide excellent customer service All other duties assigned by the Athletic Facilities staff Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for
Success:
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy Must be able to use Microsoft Office and Excel Strong attention to detail Must be self-motivated and team-oriented Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends The duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed in a competent manner following the highest standards for leadership, professionalism, integrity, accountability, responsibility, cooperation and customer service. Ability to lift up to 50lbs A valid driver's license
Requirements:
HS diploma or GED At least one year experience working in college athletics Must be available to work evenings and weekends
