Job Overview Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Physician specializing in Skilled Nursing Facilities, where you will enjoy a flexible schedule, no on-call responsibilities, and a generous medical director stipend. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality patient care within skilled nursing environments located in the Newton/Framingham area while maintaining work-life balance. You will serve as a key medical leader, overseeing patient health assessments, treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments for residents in skilled nursing facilities. Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatments as necessary while maintaining detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic. Provide guidance on complex medical issues including chronic disease management, post-acute care, and medication management. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to facility compliance with healthcare standards. Experience Medical degree from an accredited institution with active licensure in the state of practice. Post-residency experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings is preferred; prior hospital or outpatient experience is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency with Epic for documentation and patient management. Familiarity with healthcare diagnosis, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration within senior care environments. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and those requiring complex chronic disease management. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient service.
