Job Description

Role Purpose Strengthen site-level execution, ownership, and sustained compliance of facility-related regulatory and safety programs embedded within the Facilities organization This role provides Facilities-led operational accountability for assigned programs in accordance with Applied Materials policies and applicable government regulations, while aligning with the Applied Materials Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management System. The position ensures sustained regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and incident risk reduction through clearly defined Facilities ownership of execution, with centralized EHS functions providing governance, standards, and subject matter expertise rather than day-to-day operational responsibility. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Facilities operational ownership of facility‑related safety programs, with centralized EHS functions providing governance, standards, and subject‑matter expertise rather than day‑to‑day execution.
  • Lead Facilities execution and accountability for Waste Management and Electrical Safety (Arc Flash) programs, including program implementation, inspections, audits, corrective actions, documentation, contractor compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support execution of additional facility regulatory programs (e.g., LOTO, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Fire & Life Safety, PIT, Crane Safety) through defined Facilities inspection, audit, and corrective action responsibilities.
  • Integrate regulatory and safety requirements into Facilities projects and operations, including space modifications, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and contractor activities.
  • Partner with Site EHS, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate facility‑related risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support additional Facilities operational, compliance, or risk‑management activities as assigned, in alignment with site priorities and applicable facility regulatory requirements. Capacity and Accountability Approach
  • Facilities regulatory responsibilities are intentionally scoped to balance accountability with available capacity.
  • Full primary accountability is assigned to a limited number high-risk, Facilities-intensive regulatory programs, while other programs are supported through clearly defined Facilities execution responsibilities.
  • This model prevents over-concentration of workload while ensuring sustainable compliance across a complex operating environment. Scope Flexibility Statement
  • Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, facility changes, regulatory updates, site risk profile, and department priorities.
  • The role may be assigned other Facilities-related responsibilities as required, consistent with the individual's qualifications, operational needs of the site, and alignment with Applied Materials policies and facility regulatory obligations. Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Safety, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of facility-related regulatory and safety requirements, including electrical safety, arc flash, waste management, life safety systems, and contractor safety.
  • Experience supporting or leading regulatory inspections, audits, and corrective action management in a manufacturing, laboratory, semiconductor, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to interpret and implement corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and site procedures within Facilities operations. Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Facilities, Engineering, Operations, or a related function with direct involvement in facility regulatory compliance or safety-critical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Arc flash studies and mitigation
  • Hazardous, universal, and solid waste handling and disposal programs
  • Electrical infrastructure and safe work practices
  • Contractor management in regulated environments
  • Familiarity with ISO-aligned management systems and tools such as EHS One / Gensuite or similar compliance platforms.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority. Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • The position requires work in manufacturing, cleanroom and industrial environments and may involve walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional off-hours support may be required to support regulatory inspections, facility events, or critical maintenance activities.
