Job Description

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is looking for a new Facility Director to join our fun, dynamic team! The Y provides essential services to our community members regardless of age, income, or background. Our ideal candidate is passionate about our mission and serving the community. The facility on Prospect St includes two pools, a gymnasium, locker rooms, playgrounds, parking lots, lawns, and assorted other indoor spaces. We also operate an outdoor summer camp on Norwich Lake in Huntington. The Facility Director is responsible for overseeing maintenance of all these areas.
Job Duties:
Responsible for hands-on facility maintenance and repairs Monitor work order systems Oversee all contractors working in the facility, including requesting bids and recommending selection of contractors Lead the planning for daily, weekly, monthly and annual repairs and maintenance Ensure proper operation of all mechanical systems including swimming pools Hire, train, evaluate, and direct all facility & housekeeping staff (5-10 staff) Manage budget for facility department Three or more years' experience in maintenance management or closely related field Minimum two years experience in a supervisory position High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree preferred Ability to operate or learn to tractor, gator, table saw, jig saw, power sanders, chop saw, grinders, paint sprayers, generators, lawn equipment, power drills, boat motors, scissor lifts, and screw, nail guns are preferred Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems, carpentry CPO certification preferred, or required to obtain within the first 120 days of employment Must have strong written & oral communication skills, excellent project management Ability & current license to drive with a record that meets YMCA standards Benefits include health, dental & vision insurance, life & long-term disability insurance, retirement, flexible spending account, a generous PTO bank, and a free membership to the Y.
