Job Description

The Town of Norwell seeks an experienced and highly motivated Municipal Facilities Director to lead the comprehensive management, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of the Town's municipal buildings and facilities (no School properties). This is a key leadership position with significant responsibility for building operations, capital improvements, preventative maintenance, contractors, custodial services, budgets, emergency response, and major construction and renovation projects. The Director will work closely with Town officials, boards and committees, contractors, consultants, and employees to ensure safe, efficient, well-maintained facilities and sound long-term planning for the Town's building assets.
ANNUAL SALARY / BENEFITS
Starting salary range is $90,391 - $99, 516, DOQ & experience. This is a full-time (37.5hours) position under the Town's Personnel Bylaw. The Town Hall work schedule is
Monday:
8:00a.m. to 4:15p.m.;
Tuesday:
8:00a.m. to 4:15p.m.;
Wednesday:
8:00a.m. to 7:30p.m.;
Thursday:
8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.;
Friday:
8:00am to 12 noon plus emergency only response 24/7. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC and building management systems, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security systems, construction and building maintenance, as well as applicable accessibility, safety, and regulatory requirements. Strong project management, budgeting, procurement, troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and supervisory skills are essential.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent training, plus 5 to 7 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. Experience managing facilities operation in a setting involving varied building types and systems.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Class D Driver's License required. Massachusetts Public Procurement Officer certification preferred.
