Facilities Manager Position Summary:

Camp Marshall is a rustic, historic summer camp that values simplicity, stewardship, and community. The Seasonal Facilities Assistant/Custodian plays a key role in preserving the camp's character while ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment for campers and staff. This position combines routine custodial work, outdoor maintenance, and hands-on support for ongoing facilities projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize shared bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors Restock restroom supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels Sweep and mop floors in cabins, common spaces, and program areas Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recycling across camp Perform outdoor groundskeeping, including weed whacking and general upkeep of rustic spaces and pathways Assist the Facilities Manager with maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects that support camp operations Help maintain the camp's historic buildings and natural environment with care and attention Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns Support occasional setup and breakdown of camp programs and events

Qualifications:

Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Comfort working in a rustic environment with older buildings and natural terrain Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety Willingness to take direction and collaborate as part of a small team Basic familiarity with cleaning tools or landscaping equipment is helpful but not required Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable

Work Environment:

This role takes place in a rustic, outdoor camp setting with historic facilities. Work includes both indoor and outdoor tasks, often in warm weather and on uneven terrain. Flexibility and a practical, hands-on approach are important.
