Job Description
Hines Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Coordinator with great communication skills and good working knowledge of facilities operations to service an independent private school we serve. This position works closely with the Director of Facilities and maintenance team to coordinate daily facilities operations, work orders, events, preventive maintenance, and seasonal needs, including snow and ice removal operations. We are looking for someone who is organized, hands-on, communicates well, and can effectively coordinate the work of maintenance technicians and outside vendors. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily maintenance activities, work orders, preventive maintenance, and facility needs. Work with maintenance technicians to schedule, prioritize, and assign daily duties and projects. Coordinate snow and ice removal operations, including monitoring weather conditions, preparing for snow events, assigning maintenance technicians, coordinating outside snow removal vendors as needed, and ensuring walkways, entrances, parking areas, and other designated areas are safely cleared. Help ensure snow removal equipment, vehicles, tools, and supplies are ready and available for winter weather operations. Assist with the administration and use of the school's CMMS, BMS, and/or Energy Management Systems. Coordinate contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, renovations, and other facility projects. Conduct facility inspections and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained campus. Coordinate facility-related event needs, including room setups, outdoor setups, and teardowns. Provide hands-on maintenance support when needed. Communicate with school administrators, staff, contractors, and the facilities team regarding ongoing facility needs and projects. Qualifications 5+ years of facilities, maintenance, construction, or related experience. Experience coordinating or directing the work of maintenance staff. General working knowledge of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds, and custodial operations. Experience using CMMS or other maintenance/work-order management systems preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple work orders, projects, events, and facility needs. Comfortable using computers and Google Workspace. Experience coordinating snow and ice removal operations strongly preferred. Physical & Other Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to perform both administrative and hands-on facilities work. Valid driver's license. Ability to successfully complete required background screening. Must meet applicable health and immunization requirements for working in a school environment.
