Job Description

Work Shift Day Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Summary This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing and maintaining an environment that allows for the perfect patient experience. This is achieved by maintaining and repairing hospital utilities, equipment and environmental systems. Job Description Job Duties/Essential Functions Job Duties Position is for a Facility Electrician
  • Complete and facilitate basic and complex work orders and Preventative Maintenance at direction of Supervisor or Dispatcher using staff and contractor resources. Serve as technical expert resource in a specific field of mechanical or building system trade.
  • Ability to coordinate with any work using resources available to include staff and contractor resources reporting to Lead and Facilities Supervisor.
  • Completes preventive maintenance procedures accurately and timely to ensure that all such work is performed to manufacturer's recommendations and by regulation.
  • Conducts all required testing and documentation of regulated items within area of specialty. Correct deficiencies. Provides regular reporting to the Specialist II Lead regarding status of the testing and documentation.
  • Able to communicate with customers informing of status of work orders and issues pertaining to their respective departments.
  • Assists Lead and Facilities Supervisor in setting annual goals for reduction of utility usage.
  • Advises Project Management staff during the design phases of project as to the best ways to integrate new work into the current systems.
  • Reviews and inspects contracted work during construction to ensure it is in line with specifications and design intent. Reports discrepancies to the Project Manager.
  • Professionally proficient in all building mechanical systems and facilities resource management.
  • Designated coach and mentor for any assigned Mechanic II to ensure proficiency and continuity or staff resources.
  • Resource leader for assigned system of expertise for on-call facilitation of issues within the facility.
  • Responsible for performing all assigned PM tasking and reporting data to Specialist II (Lead) for their specialty area. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.   • Good written and oral skills.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to plan and design system improvements.
  • Specific Professional proficiency and expert knowledge in one trade specialty. Professional Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience required Education
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Journeyman level program certificate or equivalent is preferred. Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Must have Valid Driver's License Must have and maintain a good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be reviewed as part of the background check prior to hire or transfer.
  • One certification, license, or equivalency (validated years of experience - 5 years continuous work in Electrical required).
