WHO WE ARE
Montgomery County Recreation is a nationally recognized and award-winning agency committed to providing high-quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services, and facilities that enhance the quality of life for all ages, cultures, and abilities. The department manages 39 facilities, including recreation centers, senior centers, and indoor and outdoor facilities, and provides thousands of programs such as out-of-school activities, aquatics, classes, youth and adult sports programs and leagues, senior programs, therapeutic recreation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Montgomery County Recreation seeks an energetic, highly motivated, Recreation Leader I or Facility Leader I. As a Recreation Leader I or Facility Leader I, you will: Greet and assist participants and visitors with a professional, friendly, and welcoming attitude. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly looking up and sharing accurate information. Set up and break down equipment. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and facility. Monitor activities and participant engagement to ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment. Assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting during programs and activities or within a facility. Assist with cleaning and organizing of facility or program to ensure safety and readiness for use. Being knowledgeable of enforcing program and facility rules and requirements. As a Recreation Leader I or Facility Leader I , you may: Assist with supervision in school-based or recreation center -based programs or activities. Plans, leads, or coordinates a recreation activity. Collect and process registrations and payments while safeguarding financial and personal information. Assist with administrative processes such as answering phones and returning calls, completing reports, maintaining records, scheduling, ordering supplies, checking in participants, contractors, guests, etc. Judging or officiating sports, programs, activities, and events. MUST:
Be able to follow and give directions and answer inquiries professionally and with a welcoming attitude. Work as part of a team, attend required training and participate in staff meetings. The hourly rate for this
SEASONAL/TEMPORARY
position is $19.50!
Experience:
Six hundred hours (600) of relevant work experience as a leader or instructor in one or more recreation activities.
Education:
High school graduation or a High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland. Ability to read and write in English.
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
