Montgomery County Recreation is a nationally recognized and award-winning agency committed to providing high-quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services, and facilities that enhance the quality of life for all ages, cultures, and abilities. The department manages 39 facilities, including recreation centers, senior centers, and indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities, and provides thousands of programs such as out-of-school activities, aquatics, classes, youth and adult sports programs and leagues, senior programs, and therapeutic recreation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Montgomery County Recreation seeks an energetic, highly motivated, Recreation Leader II or Facility Leader II . As a Recreation Leader II or Facility Leader II , you will: Greet and assist participants and visitors with a professional, friendly, and welcoming attitude. Provide exceptional customer service bypromptlylooking up and sharingaccurateinformation. Set up andbreak downequipment. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipmentand facility. Monitor activitiesand participant engagement toensure a clean, safe,and supportiveenvironment. Assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting during programs and activities or within a facility. Assist with cleaning and organizing of facility or program to ensure safety and readiness for use. Being knowledgeable of enforcing program and facility rules and requirements. As Recreation Leader II or Facility Leader II , you may: Provide leadership and supervision in school-based or recreation center -based programs or activities. Supervise, plan, lead, coordinate or evaluate a recreation activity. Collect and process registrations and payments while safeguarding financial and personal information. Assist with administrative processes such as answering phones and returning calls, completing reports, maintaining records, scheduling, ordering supplies, checking in participants, contractors, guests, etc. Judging or officiating sports, programs, activities, and events. MUST:
Be able to follow and give directions and answer inquiries professionally and with a welcoming attitude. Work as part of a team, maintain relationships, attend required training, and participate in staff meetings. Exercise tact, judgment, and maturity to maintain order, ensure appropriate behavior, and maintain safety. The hourly rate for this
SEASONAL/TEMPORARY
position is $20.00!
Experience:
Twelve Hundred Hours (1200) of relevant work experience as a leader or instructor in one or more recreation activities.
Education:
Completion of two years in college.
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
