Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and facility operations of our advanced hydroponic herb greenhouse and refrigerated pack house. This role requires an adaptable troubleshooter who understands that automated growing systems and precise climate control are critical to biological health. You will act as a vital cross-functional partner, checking in daily with our Growing Team and Production Supervisors to identify priorities, minimize downtime, and ensure peak performance across all production lines

Daily Collaboration & Communication Growing Team Integration:

Touch base daily with growers to assess irrigation, NFT system flow, climate controls, and heating demands to protect crop health.

Production & Logistics Alignment:

Check in daily with Production Supervisors to ensure the pack house lines, automated seeding equipment, and material handling vehicles are fully operational to meet tight shipping schedules. Hydroponics & Greenhouse Climate Systems Maintain and troubleshoot multiple Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic systems, including water pumps, plumbing, filtration, nutrient dosing networks, and sanitization systems. Operate, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance on two large high-pressure commercial boilers to ensure uninterrupted climate and root-zone temperature management. Monitor environmental controls, venting systems, and automated shade curtains. Refrigeration & Pack House Operations Oversee facility maintenance for our refrigerated pack house, ensuring optimal cooling, airflow, and humidity levels. Maintain and conduct regular checks on our large walk-in cooler and associated industrial refrigeration equipment. Provide mechanical and electrical support for four packaging/production lines to prevent conveyor, sorting, or labeling bottlenecks during shipping windows.

Automation & Machinery Maintenance Calibrate, clean, and repair our automated Urbinati Italian seeding machine to ensure precision during daily planting schedules. Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on material handling equipment, including our utility tractor and fleet of forklifts

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

3+ years of facility or industrial maintenance experience. Experience in commercial agriculture, commercial greenhouse operations, or food processing environments is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong working knowledge of high-pressure boiler operations, commercial refrigeration systems (HVAC/R), pumps, and industrial plumbing (PVC/copper).

Automation/Mechanical:

Familiarity with automated packing lines, conveyor systems, or automated agricultural machinery (e.g., Urbinati seeders).

Vehicles :

Mechanical competency to check oil, fluids, filters, and battery systems on tractors and forklifts.

Interpersonal:

Outstanding communication skills with a team-first mindset; comfortable working closely with crop growers and packing supervisors #
