Job Description

The City of Lakeville is accepting applications for a Facility Attendant. This position will be responsible for building set-up and reconfiguration, routine custodial and light maintenance work, and ensuring user needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 5 hours per day. Work hours are typically 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., however, the work schedule can be discussed. The anticipated starting hourly rate is $24.00. 2026 Salary Range is $24.00 to $31.05 per hour. This position is open until filled. Perform building set-up and reconfiguration based on scheduled activities. Duties include locking/unlocking doors and set up-take down of tables and chairs. Perform a variety of custodial work including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, dusting, trash and recycling collection and disposal, exterior walkway maintenance including snow and ice control, floor stripping and waxing, and general building cleanup and upkeep which includes restrooms. Monitor building systems and components. Assist with preventative maintenance programs for building systems, emergency lighting, and kitchen equipment. Documentation and record keeping are an important part of these duties. Responsible for building security, including opening and/or closing of facilities. Repair and ensure proper operation of building components, including lighting, plumbing, doors and windows, furniture and equipment, phone systems, and other minor repairs. Clean, maintain, inventory, and order necessary supplies for custodial work and proper building operation. Make recommendations concerning facility equipment, supplies, and repairs to the Facility Maintenance Planner or designated representative. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with peers, supervisors, facility users, patrons, vendors, contractors, and others.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
The Facility Attendant:
Is under the immediate general and technical supervision of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor. Also receives supervision and work direction from the Public Works and Facilities Coordinator. Responds to requests or inquiries from facility user groups and patrons within established policies and procedures. Communicates and works effectively with other City personnel and service contractors. High school diploma or G.E.D. One to three years of experience in janitorial and light building maintenance. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb and work on ladders, set up and take down tables and chairs, and communicate with facility users. Ability to keep and maintain written records. Valid driver's license. Special Boilers License desired. The City of Lakeville is an equal opportunity employer.
