This role supports uninterrupted production by managing building systems, utilities, preventative maintenance programs, contractors, capital projects, and regulatory compliance in alignment with IATF 16949, OSHA, EPA, and local/state requirements. US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE's and TPO's as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly manage the Maintenance Department, including supervisors, technician, and mezz operations. Sets departmental goals and objectives and tracks and reports on performance to same. Provides support to all departments to ensure machinery, equipment and facilities are in top operational order. Administers preventive maintenance program and monitors for conformance and improvement. Interact with vendors in procurement of cost-effective components. Oversee the supervision and assignments of work orders to Maintenance Supervisor and Technicians to assure proper safety, mechanical and housekeeping procedures are followed. Assure programs are in place to maintain production equipment in optimal operating condition. Assist in development of Maintenance Department budget; adhere to budget requirements. Provide current plant/office layouts. Participate with plant engineering on equipment layouts and assist in implementing process improvement changes. Responsible for maintaining and tracking maintenance activities via database software program. Assist in trouble shooting and repairing equipment when required. Assure proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for cell/area equipment. Follow all prescribed internal and manufacturer maintenance procedures. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area. Participate in team problem solving activities (i.e., 8D's, communication meetings, etc.). Responsible for identifying and carrying out all required training for department. Active participant as core member of the safety team. Ensures all internal and OSHA safety procedures and policies are adhered to by the maintenance department. Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures within the department. Works with other departments to implement continuous improvement ideas. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Associates degree or equivalent technical degree; and at least five years related experience, or supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of industrial utilities and building systems. Experience supporting IATF 16949 andISO14001
quality systems. Local knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local building codes. Proven experience managing budgets and capital projects. Electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic certification or training required. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, programmable controller problems. Experience with CMMS systems. Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement background. Strong leadership and accountability.Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the following is the working conditions: Work is performed primarily in an automotive plastic injection molding manufacturing environment with regular time spent on the production floor and in quality labs. Exposure with noise, moving machinery, forklifts, temperature variations, plastic resins, and production chemicals typical of injection molding operations. Required to wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, and reflecting green "quality" vest. May be exposed to odors, dust, and fumes associated with molding processes and materials. Work schedule is generally day shift, with off shift, weekend, or extended hours required to support production issues, launches, audits or customer concerns. Position requires frequent interaction with production personnel, engineering, maintenance, and management on the shop floor. Occasional travel to customer or supplier locations may be required for audits, launches, or issue resolution. Fast-paced environment with time sensitive decision making to minimize quality risks and production downtime. Work involves a combination of standing, walking, sitting, and computer-based tasks.
