 The Building Maintenance Specialist performs responsible skilled work in the maintenance, repair, modification, installation and construction of buildings and facilities; does related work as required. HVAC Systems Specialist:
Possesses strong technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems, a commitment to preventive maintenance, and a customer-service mindset focused on supporting a safe and comfortable work environment for employees and the public.

About the
Division:
Facilities Maintenance Services provide proactive maintenance, make repairs, coordinate renovations, and incorporate life-cycle management for all City facilities. As a Building Maintenance Specialist you will work alongside other maintenance professionals to ensure the City buildings are maintained to a high level. The salary posted is the full salary range for this position. The starting salary is expected to be in the range of $38,078.51 - $49,502.06 depending on qualifications Essential Functions/Typical Tasks Performing building maintenance and repair work; remodeling buildings; performing preventative maintenance tasks. (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Assists with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, lighting, masonry and related building maintenance work. Assists with building rooms and additions and remodeling existing rooms/buildings. Picks up and delivers materials to job site. Unstops commodes; repairs leaks; changes wax seals, flush valves and vacuum breaker. Changes light bulbs. Cleans and changes filters; checks belts on motors. Moves office furniture, computer paper; helps install computer wire. Performs related tasks as required.
Required Education and Experience Required Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
