About the

Division:

Facilities Maintenance Services provide proactive maintenance, make repairs, coordinate renovations, and incorporate life-cycle management for all City facilities. As a Building Maintenance Specialist you will work alongside other maintenance professionals to ensure the City buildings are maintained to a high level. The salary posted is the full salary range for this position. The starting salary is expected to be in the range of $38,078.51 - $49,502.06 depending on qualifications Essential Functions/Typical Tasks Performing building maintenance and repair work; remodeling buildings; performing preventative maintenance tasks. Assists with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, lighting, masonry and related building maintenance work. Assists with building rooms and additions and remodeling existing rooms/buildings. Picks up and delivers materials to job site. Unstops commodes; repairs leaks; changes wax seals, flush valves and vacuum breaker. Changes light bulbs. Cleans and changes filters; checks belts on motors. Moves office furniture, computer paper; helps install computer wire. Performs related tasks as required.

Required Education and Experience Required Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.

Preferred:
