Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager/Electrician will assist with establishing goals, policies, schedules, priorities and development of departmental budget. Will oversee all facets of the operation of the department. Perform all function pertaining to maintenance and plant equipment to adequately support and efficiently operate the full range of department duties. Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list): Assist in the preparation of work schedules for department and enforce these schedules Assist in the preparation of departmental budget and ensures that the department operates within budget Maintain working knowledge of department records and files to meet requirements of inspection and regulatory agencies Assist in development, implementation, administration and modification of policies and procedures to maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment of the hospital through effective utilization of personnel and materials In the Director's absence, serves on various committees (Safety, Disaster, Building and Grounds, and Planning). Work with outside contractors as needs arise on installation/or remodeling of areas Monitor inventory levels of mechanical and electrical supplies, equipment and material. Place requisition when supply reaches re-order level Read and interpret blueprints
Requirements:
Qualifications a.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent Registered, certified, or graduate of a 2-year degree/program in Electrical or a related field An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements Five (5) years hospital or health care facility experience Two (2) years supervisory experience in a medical facility Journeyman Electrician Card b.
Necessary Skills:
Knowledge of national, state, and local codes as related to a hospital setting Familiar with DNV Environment of Care Standards ? Knowledge of various hospital mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems Possess analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication skills Time management skills - set priorities to meet assignment deadlines c.
Physical Requirements:
Constant standing or walking Lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs. Push/pull heavy equipment Manual dexterity and mobility Reaching at all levels Stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens d.
