Full-time Sylva Valley Health & Rehab is seeking an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused Admissions Director to lead our admissions process and support continued census growth. This position requires at least one year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). Key Responsibilities Manage the admissions process from initial referral through resident arrival. Review referrals promptly and coordinate clinical and financial approval. Communicate with hospitals, referral sources, residents, and families. Verify insurance coverage, benefits, authorizations, and payer information. Maintain accurate referral and admission documentation. Conduct facility tours and explain services to prospective residents and families. Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, home health agencies, and community partners. Follow up on pending referrals and identify barriers that may delay admission. Coordinate room assignments, transportation, equipment, medications, and other admission needs. Participate in census-development and marketing activities. Track referral sources, admissions, denials, and conversion rates. Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, the business office, and administration. Assist with admissions outside normal business hours when necessary. Required Qualifications At least one year of work experience in a skilled nursing facility is required. Strong communication, organization, customer-service, and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple referrals and changing priorities. Comfortable using electronic referral platforms, email, and healthcare software. Professional, dependable, responsive, and able to protect confidential information. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in skilled nursing admissions, marketing, business development, or census management. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
