Job Summary Aliya Wellness is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide emotional and recovery-oriented support to residents in an assisted living facility. Our program focuses on helping older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, social isolation, and other mental health challenges improve their quality of life, build meaningful connections, and achieve their personal wellness goals. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one peer support services to residents within the assisted living facility. Build trusting, supportive relationships with residents experiencing mental health challenges. Assist residents in developing coping skills, improving emotional well-being, and reducing social isolation. Encourage participation in social activities, community engagement, and daily routines. Support residents in achieving individualized recovery and wellness goals. Use personal lived experience with mental health challenges or recovery, when appropriate, to inspire hope and connection. Collaborate with therapists, clinical supervisors, and other members of the care team. Complete accurate and timely documentation of all services provided. Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with program requirements. Qualifications New York State Peer Specialist certification or CRPA. (NYCPS or NYCPS-P preferred). Personal lived experience with mental health challenges and recovery. Experience working with older adults, assisted living residents, or individuals with behavioral health needs preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and able to work independently. Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.
