The Division of Substance Abuse of the Montefiore Medical Center is the largest medical school affiliated treatment program in the United States. Our program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 4,000 patients. Responsible for the management and coordination of work projects for the construction, renovation and ongoing maintenance of the buildings of Montefiore Wellness Centers. Work involves the management of actual construction activities in coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Responsibilities include the regular inspection of facilities for repair and maintenance purposes, the planning of work required, and estimates of material costs and man hours required. Liaison is maintained with all departments to ensure that their support service needs are met in these areas. Work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations. Along with Site Directors, administrative supervision is exercised over maintenance staff in the department. Essential Functions- Liaison with landlords for all lease properties. Coordinate all construction, renovation and installations projects. Administrative contact with engineering, safety, purchasing, security and risk management department of Montefiore Medical Center.
- Direct supervision of all central office support services staff such as messenger services, transportation, maintenance, housekeeping and security staff.
- Manage telecommunications systems at all sites including: troubleshooting problems, arranging routine & emergency maintenance, training new employees on telephone use, monitoring phone bills and coordinating with Montefiore Medical Center Department of Support Services.
- Enforce health and safety standards at all sites in accordance with
OASAS, TJC, DOH, DOHMH
standards. Conduct routine site safety inspections at all locations, as well as Fire & Emergency drills to ensure compliance and minimize risk.- Coordinate labor relations meetings and manage union issues. Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 Years of Experience in construction or facilities management and OSHA regulations Required skills:
- Candidate must possess sophisticated interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and demonstrate the capacity to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Must be highly organized and be able to work independently. Must possess excellent decision-making skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
