Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $19.50 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time CCE Lab Assistant student worker positions for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University. The CCE Lab Assistant student worker is responsible for the preparation, instrumentation, recovery, and cleanup of test setups, as well as extensive laboratory cleanup andanization in research laboratories. Work will also include cleaning, preparing, andanizing lab space in instructional laboratories. Miscellaneous duties including painting, furniture moving, wall hangings, and general building maintenance using all manner ofmon wood and metal shop tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, bolts, and hammers. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Teamwork, Professionalism, Career & Self-Development Position Duties 100% Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work in research laboratories in the preparation, instrumentation, recovery, and cleanup of test setups. Extensive laboratory cleanup andanization.
  • Work in the instructional laboratories cleaning, preparing, andanizing lab space.
  • Miscellaneous duties including painting, furniture moving, wall hangings, and general building maintenance.
  • Use all manner ofmon wood and metal shop tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, bolts, and hammers.
  • Driving university owned vehicles to pick up/drop off materials, tools, and models from other facilities and stores, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found : hr.oregonstate.edu/student-employment-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requirements Must be academically enrolled in a high school,munity college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term

  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in a semi-open environment subject to colder temperatures during the winter and warm, humid conditions in the summer.
  • Must be able to work near, but at a safe distance, from dusty and noisy tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other vehicles.
  • Must know how to use all manner ofmon wood and metal shop tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, bolts, and hammers.
  • Must have valid driver's license to drive university owned vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift 25 kg.
  • Must wear safety training and protection gear provided by the Laboratory in some circumstances.
