Activities Director

  • Full-time We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to lead resident engagement and life enrichment in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting.
In this role, you will plan and lead meaningful daily and monthly activities for residents in long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. You will work closely with nursing, therapy, and social services to support residents' emotional, social, and psychosocial well-being through individualized and group activities based on resident abilities and interests. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys spending time directly with residents and making a visible difference in their day-to-day quality of life.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar based on resident interests, abilities, and care plans Lead group and individual activities for skilled nursing and short-term rehab residents Adjust activities based on resident condition, recovery progress, and clinical needs Participate in resident care conferences and collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, and dietary teams Encourage resident participation in daily routines and engagement opportunities Document resident participation and responses according to facility requirements Coordinate facility events, holiday celebrations, family involvement activities, and appropriate community engagement opportunities Adapt activities for residents who are on isolation precautions, in rehab stays, or those with mobility or medical limitations Support resident psychosocial well-being and identify changes in mood, behavior, or function and communicate concerns to nursing staff.
Experience & Qualifications:
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute rehabilitation strongly preferred Ability to engage older adults in meaningful, person-centered activities Comfortable working with residents with complex medical conditions, cognitive impairment, and functional limitations. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team Reliable, organized, and able to manage a monthly schedule independently Ability to maintain documentation and meet facility and regulatory expectations Activity Director certification or ability to obtain Must pass background check and drug screening

From $19.00 per hour
