Job Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in environmental services/housekeeping experience required. Ability to handle heavy equipment and operate such equipment and hand/power tools relevant to your position. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, interactions and correct usage. Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, internet research, etc. and the ability to learn software applications relevant to your position. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize and produce reports on Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Strong skillsets in oral and written communication, cultural competence, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Must be able to exercise good judgment and identify when to escalate issues as appropriate. Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions with staff, co-workers, vendors, and patients. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude.
Essential Duties:
Completes assigned facilities requests as required. Sets up/reconstructs work stations/office furniture as directed. Sets up conference/training rooms as requested. Clean designated areas including but not limited to clinical spaces, restrooms, etc., in compliance with health and safety regulations (OSHA, funding sources, etc.) and infection control precautions. Ensures that all safety items such as fire extinguishers, emergency/exit lights, evacuation placards, etc. are functional and in place; adheres to all OSHA and local codes as required. Ensures supply rooms and workspaces are supplied with soap and other supplies that the department is responsible for. Facilitates special projects related to cleaning, bulk trash/furniture, and/or purging offices. Regularly conducts site reviews, noting and fixing safety issues, reporting maintenance issues to Facilities Manager, and listening to employee feedback/suggestions regarding EVS/Facilities needs. Cleans, maintains and inspects EVS/Facilities equipment, ensuring faulty devices are reported and serviced appropriately and stock is maintained at appropriate levels. Performs minor electrical maintenance/repairs including changing light ballasts, sockets, minor appliances repair/replace switches, outlets, receptacles, etc. Performs minor plumbing maintenance/repairs including clearing clogged toilets/drain lines, repairing washer/dryers, replace faucets/drain lines, etc. Performs minor carpentry maintenance/installations/repairs including door repairs, frames, locks, windows, wall installation/repairs, cabinetry repairs, replacing floor and ceiling tiles, etc. Paints various structures, equipment, walls, doors, furniture, etc.; maintains all painting equipment and paint. Prepares cleaning solutions per safety standards. Facilitates waste removal, including the proper disposal of infectious waste. Maintains compliance with all FIGHT policies and procedures. Reports known conduct taken by any FIGHT employee (including yourself) which violates any FIGHT policy or law on which you have been trained, or should know of, such as laws criminalizing theft or violent crimes, and reports the matter to management. Other duties as assigned to fulfill FIGHT's mission.
Physical Demands:
Lift up to 50 lbs. Climb stairs, ladders, crawl in tight spaces, move furniture. Manual dexterity; must be able to carry a tool pouch and operate power tools typical for repairs. Ability to perform the essential job functions while meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards safely and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to sit or stand and remain in a stationary position. Must be able to walk, move, or travel around the office. Must be able to see, determine, identify, recognize, and inspect. Frequent talking and listening. Must be able to talk, listen, retain information and speak clearly and accurately.
