Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Coordinator / Space Planner to oversee the management and optimization of our physical spaces. In this vital role, you will coordinate maintenance activities, plan and allocate space efficiently, and ensure all facilities operate smoothly and safely. Your expertise will help create a productive environment that supports our team's success and aligns with organizational goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead facilities management initiatives, implement safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across our facilities. Responsibilities Develop and execute space planning strategies to optimize layout, utilization, and functionality of work areas. Manage facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely repair and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and low voltage systems. Oversee maintenance repair procedures using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, schedules, and asset histories. Supervise facilities maintenance operations including HVAC system repair, electrical systems troubleshooting with voltmeters and ohmmeters, plumbing system maintenance, and mechanical systems repair. Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA standards by conducting regular inspections, maintaining schematics for electrical and mechanical systems, and implementing safety protocols. Coordinate with engineering teams on troubleshooting complex issues related to mechanical or electrical systems using schematics and engineering troubleshooting techniques. Lead project management efforts for facilities upgrades or renovations while managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships. Manage facilities maintenance teams by providing leadership, supervising daily activities, training staff on maintenance repair procedures, and promoting a safety-first culture. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, safety compliance documentation, and space utilization data. Qualifications Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams or related technical staff. Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC system repair, electrical systems troubleshooting (using voltmeters and ohmmeters), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and engineering troubleshooting techniques for complex mechanical or electrical issues. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations along with experience implementing safety protocols in a facilities environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication purposes. Experience managing facilities maintenance management software such as CMMS to streamline work order processing and asset tracking. Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams effectively in fast-paced environments. Mechanical systems repair expertise combined with the ability to read schematics for electrical or mechanical troubleshooting.
