The Facility Engineering Manager helps to lead facility operations for the MathWorks Natick campus, with a primary focus on large‑scale HVAC systems, building automation platforms, and mission‑critical data center infrastructure. This role manages a team of HVAC and building automation technicians responsible for reliable, safe, and efficient operation across a complex, multi‑building campus environment. The position plays a key leadership role in ensuring high availability and resiliency of critical data center systems while driving best‑in‑class energy efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with environmental health and safety standards. The manager also partners with internal stakeholders to continuously enhance campus infrastructure, operational performance, and long‑term facility capabilities. Responsibilities Lead a team of HVAC technicians and building automation specialists, delivering best‑in‑class service while consistently aligning with MathWorks core values. Develop and standardize processes for mission‑critical operations, with a strong focus on improving system reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency. Plan, design, and implement redundancy and resiliency strategies for mission‑critical cooling infrastructure. Oversee building automation system design, implementation, and ongoing operation to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Drive innovative solutions to meet and exceed building energy efficiency and sustainability goals. Apply a high‑level understanding of commercial‑scale HVAC systems, including chillers, heat pumps, and associated support systems. Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety requirements, promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence. Qualifications A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required. 2 years management experience is required. Additional Qualifications Experience managing mechanical and electrical systems in a large campus environment Data center operations Process design, deep understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer principals Managing technical staff Building and managing financial plans Environmental health and safety Experience developing and achieving energy efficiency metrics and goals Deep understanding of building automation system design and operationSimilar remote jobs
