Full Job Description Position Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Facilities, the Facilities Manager leads the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of Rarebreed's leased facilities and grounds. This role ensures the effective management of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, while coordinating repairs, renovations, and vendor partnerships. This is a remote position that requires the ability and willingness to travel. The role is based in the Northeast, with a strong preference for candidates located within this region. It offers flexibility for both remote and in-office work, depending on proximity and business needs. We are open to eligible candidates located within the Eastern United States.Experience:
5+ years of experience managing facilities operations across multiple sites, ideally in healthcare, veterinary, laboratory, or similar environments.Industry Background Multi-Site Facility Operations:
Oversee and support a distributed network of facilities, ensuring consistent standards, operational efficiency, and compliance across all locations. Integrated Facilities Management (IFM): Implement and manage IFM services to support Rarebreed's network of facilities, managing vendors to deliver high level of service while controlling costs and setting up new acquisitions within the program.Vendor Management & Contract Negotiation:
Manage vendor relationships, oversee service delivery, and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings, service excellence, and long-term partnerships.Process Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and increase service quality across facility operations.Compensation Range:
Target salary between $80,000 and $100,000 annually including additional incentives, depending on qualifications and professional work experience.What You'll Do:
Facilities Operations Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and functionality of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Coordinate routine and emergency repairs to ensure facilities remain safe, efficient, and fully operational. Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to extend the life and performance of building infrastructure. Communicate, coordinate and educate hospitals staff on facilities related issues and maintenance. Safety & Compliance Ensure all facilities operate in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards, fire codes, and state and local building requirements. Conduct regular inspections and address potential safety risks to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors. Vendor & Contractor Management Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors responsible for maintenance, repairs, and construction projects. Coordinate scheduling, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within scope. Communicate with hospital staff and field teams Budget & Resource Management Manage facility maintenance and project budgets, ensuring responsible cost control and resource allocation. Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies necessary for facility operations and repairs. Projects & Facility Improvements Coordinate and lead small renovation, repair, and facility improvement projects. Ensure projects are completed efficiently while minimizing disruption to daily operations.Compensation & Benefits:

Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and site infrastructure.Facilities Leadership:
Proven ability to lead maintenance teams, manage contractors, and collaborate with hospital or operational teams across multiple sites.Problem-Solving:
Skilled in troubleshooting facility issues and responding quickly to emergency repairs while maintaining operational continuity.Communication & Collaboration:
Effective interpersonal and coordination skills to work with staff, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.Technology Proficiency:
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), MS Office, project management, and remote communication tools. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience managing facilities operations across multiple sites, ideally in healthcare, veterinary, laboratory, or similar environments. Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience leading cross-functional teams during facility renovations, expansions, or emergency response situations.
